Thank you to the New Women’s Space in Brooklyn for partnering with us to host our natural beauty event. Self-care includes taking care of the physical along with the mental. This event revolved around products made with all natural ingredients and even more importantly, love.

We had the honor of being joined by Rising Phonenixx, Signature Scents by Hand, Ebby’s Melts, Leafed Beauty, and Oasis Wellness Lab for a beautiful afternoon of learning and laughter. The event started with a workshop hosted by Rising Phoenixx (@risingphoenixx) where the ladies got to create their own, personalized scrubs using all natural ingredients.

Next, we got to hear from Sequoia of Leafed Beauty (@leafedbeauty) about her journey from struggling to find a mainstream product that wouldn’t break her out to creating her line of chemical-free face and hair products. She led a Q&A centered on the importance of knowing exactly what we’re applying to our skin.  As one of our guests said, “If I can’t pronounce it, I don’t use it.”

Last but definitely not least we were joined by Kabrea Thomas of Signature Scents by Hand (@signaturescentsbyhand) who informed of us the dangers of using perfumes and colognes with harmful ingredients. The guests were then allowed to sample a few products from her line of perfumes, colognes, and body butters.

We headed downstairs to listen to panel of inspiring women, led by our EIC, Rowana Abbensetts. Eboniqua Jones (@godismyhomie), Lana C. Marilyn (@cinniie), and Adriana Fanore (@oasiswellnesslab) spoke about self-confidence, colorism, and the importance of learning to love yourself first.

Black beauty is an art form that deserves to be nurtured. Thank you so much to our vendors, sponsors, panelists, and guests.
